    Derek,

As a somewhat OCD developer, I appreciate the succinctness and organization of your site (including how it translates to mobile), as well as your coding explanations and samples. I’ve visited the site several times over the last couple weeks while working through a new SQL Server 2005 project, and even if/when I didn’t find the exact answer I thought I would find (based on Google results), I always stayed and found something ELSE that was useful. That’s always a plus, oh, and worth the [+1] click!

Job well done, sir! Many thanks.

    Derek,

I just stumbled onto your site while looking for ways to utilize DMV’s. I am really new to SQL having spent most of my time as a Citrix/Infrastructure guy. At my new job I have been asked to take on a DBA role as well as my Citrix duties. I am finding that SQL is a fascinating subject…. I didn’t see that coming. Your site has some great articles….especially around understanding indexes and has really assisted me in my new role.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

BTW — what are your consulting fees (if you’re available)?

  15. Phil says:

    Derek,

Having taught computer science years ago at the college level, I must compliment you: yours are the best summaries of SQL (especially DDL) usage I’ve seen, concise and easily understandable.

    Brilliant! Excellent work!

    Regards,
    Phil

      Phil,

Thank you very much for the compliment! I’m glad these examples are useful, I do try hard to make them inclusive and concise.. but when I re-read them I usually only see the flaws. :)

As for consulting, I’m currently working at a company full time right now and we have a tight deadline so I don’t have much time on the side. Potentially in the future I will get ramped up.

      Have a great day!
